Townsville 400

After a crazy 200km race on the streets of Townsville, James Golding and Michael Caruso brought the Boost Mobile Racing commodores home in P7 and P9 respectively! It’s James’ best solo result so far, and an awesome result for Robbo!

Race 18
James Golding: P7
Michael Caruso: P9

James Golding: P20 – 1:12.9573
Michael Caruso: P24 – 1:13.2570

Great recovery from James today after being pushed off track on lap 2. He dealt with a faulty gear position sensor, and brought the #34 home in 15th, 7 spots up from his starting position.

James Golding “It was a bit of a tough start to the race, we had a good start but got hit by another car and sent to the back. Struggled a bit in the first stint, but had pretty good pace in clean air and was able to move up some spots and pass some cars. We’ve gotta tune it up for quali tomorrow!”

Michael Caruso P22, “Tough day today, but good to get enough laps under my belt to help understand the car and hopefully get great direction for tomorrow!”

Bit of rain, bit of sun, but that is two practice sessions done here in Townsville.

Michael Caruso
“Really good start to the weekend, obviously first practice session to finish 6th was great. In Practice 2, I got my first run with the team and a foreign race car in the dry which was good. I feel like there is no doubt we can find some improvements for tomorrow which well help bump us up the field.”

James Golding
“Bit of an up and down day for us today. Practice 1 was damp, so we were just feeling our way and having a bit of fun out there. We tried a few new things in the wet so learnt some stuff there. In practice 2, we made a pretty big change to try and fixed the area we have been struggling in for most of the year, and we think we might have found something. We will move towards that direction tomorrow, and come out firing for the rest of the weekend.”

Practice 2
